THE VITALITY OF DREAMS

“And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.” (Matthew 2:12 KJV)

Dreams continue to be a powerful means that God uses to communicate with us. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in the believer, as promised in Joel 2:28, will lead to old men dreaming dreams and young men seeing visions. Therefore, an essential expression of the Holy Spirit in ones life is through dreams.

Dreams are vital for sustaining our walk with the father. Those who are educated in the ministry of dreams and their interpretations possess a skill that is in much demand in our days. The precise guidance that God gives to His children through dreams is something we need more than ever before today.

Joseph was a man who enjoyed the vitality of dreams in fulfilling the call of God upon His life. In Matthew 1:20, as he thought of putting Mary away privily, after hearing the news of her pregnancy, an angel of God appeared to him in a dream and instructed him to “take unto thee Mary thy wife.” When the wise men visited Jesus and were to go back, the angel of God, warned them not to go to Herod but return another way. They did and this bought Joseph and his family time to escape before Herod massacred babies of two years and under. Joseph was again told by an angel in Matthew 2:13, to take Jesus and Mary and depart to Egypt, to preserve this godly child. Upon the death of Herod, God’s angel again, in Matthew 2:19 appeared to Joseph in a dream, telling Him to return. Prior to all these, in 1 Kings 3:5, Solomon had just offered 1000 burnt offerings to God, when the Lord appeared to Him in a dream by night saying, “Ask what I shall give thee!”

God has always used dreams to warn, direct and bless His children. Begin to desire for this manifestation of the Holy Spirit in your life, at a greater intensity. May our God release this grace upon us all that we become precisely guided by His Spirit through the vitality of dreams, in Jesus Name, Amen. God bless you and enjoy a wonderful week.
